Garland Miche Waller

Garland Waller, better known as “Miche,” is a well-known name throughout the Gospel industry. Although widely known as the talented musician and producer for Pastor John P. Kee for some 25 years, Miche holds his own and is revered as a skilled musician, composer/arranger and in-demand producer for many award-winning artists.

Born in 1969 in Philadelphia, PA, Miche is firmly ensconced in the premiere class of musicians and producers of his generation. With the church as his focal point, God as his main inspiration and the Influence of iconic Gospel statesmen Richard Smallwood, Thomas Whitfield, Steven Ford, Michael Brooks, and Kevin Bond, Miche began his musical journey at his grandfather’s church, National Temple Baptist Church in Philadelphia. His grandfather, the late Rev. John B. Waller, encouraged Miche to play the organ at the early age of nine years old.  Miche continued to fine-tune his gift at the Philadelphia College of Performing Arts. Though he is an accomplished musician in classical, jazz, and contemporary music stylings, Miche always felt at home playing and arranging Gospel music. Several of his early works that are now considered classics were recorded with the GMWA and VIP Mass Choirs.

In 1990, Miche was blessed with the opportunity to become the pianist for Pastor John P. Kee and his church, New Life Fellowship Church in Charlotte, NC. Through mentorship under Pastor Kee, Miche was elevated to the role of Music Director and produced most of the songs and musical arrangements from the projects Never Shall Forget to Level Next. Throughout his 25-year tenure with Pastor Kee, Miche also had the opportunity to work with other well-known artists in the industry such as the world’s greatest storyteller, Evangelist Dorothy Norwood and Wilmington Chester Mass Choir, and independent artists such as Cassandra O’Neal and Stellar Award winner Kendra Smith.

Miche’s work can be found through a myriad of artists both in the United States and abroad. In 2014, Miche returned to his hometown of Philadelphia to serve as the musical director of Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church, where Rev. Alyn E. Waller is the pastor. In a collaboration with his cousin, they formed a record label with the purpose of preserving and celebrating the rich sound of music for the church and  produced the Billboard-charting album, “The Experience” for the Enon Music Group where he dutifully serves as Vice President. Since its beginning, Miche has released several well received choir, soloist, and group projects, that include Stellar Nominees, Zak Williams & 1/Akord and Fresh Anointing, ensembles, and a host of psalmists under the Enon Music Group label.
